She was letting me know that I was loved just like her sons were, that they were there for me whatever I needed, just like Emmett and Jasper and this made me calm down a little. I took a calming breath and jumped off the cliff. “I can’t be the one to bring Tia and Ben up. Now before you go off at me and tell me you are disappointed, I need to tell you the reasons.” I looked at both of them in the eye. “This past nine days, have opened my eyes to what children really need to feel loved and secure in this world. Author's Response: This chapter originally was heading down the wrong track... and I could not see any benefit to any of them and the characters were over powering the hatred for kindness and understanding as I was writing, so that is how the chapter ended up being. Wow to say that we are blown away by the response to this is a complete understatement of what we actually do feel—shock, awe, happiness, thrill ... just to name a few of our feelings. The fact that this one-shot only garnered an honorable mention in the contest does not go anywhere near the exhilaration we both feel over the heartfelt reviews and PM's we've received telling us how much you've loved this and how you voted for it. We have tossed a few ideas back and forth and have some of the story out-lined. Trust in us to finish this, but it will most likely be at least a couple of weeks before the next chapter posts, but it will be a substantial chapter and well worth the wait. A lot of you want Tanya, Renee, Phil, and James to get their just dues. Trust in us, we are usually great at doling out punishments. And as her step-fathers brother he is In a position of authority so that makes him a sexual predictor an it is a case of statutory rape. So that should help Bella's case where he is concerned. But I'm worried that he can still get access to River. While it is sick and horrible there have been cases where as her biological father he could get visitation rights even if he went to jail. Please tell me this will not happen? It makes me sick to think of that monster anywhere near River.
This story really is gut wrenching and sad. But I love the build up and can't wait to see exactly where you two take it.
