I very, very rarely review, but I had to say something to this. I am reading Set in Stone and jumped here after the relevant chapter to read the outtake. the origional chapter made me smile, but I actually laughed out loud to this one! I could totally empathise with poor Edward!
Brilliant writing, on both stories (after I finish SiS I'll read the sequel, you better finish it or I'll be very angry, I only read complete fics usually so there you have me out of character again!) Look forward to reading many many more fics from you in future.

Unfortunately I can't read this as I am using a kindle and for some reason (maybe you are imposing a font size on the work?) the print is so tiny it can't be read. Even using the text size + button does not change the size of the letters like it does on other stories. :-(

Thank you - I appreciate it! More and more of Godric's background will come seeping through as the story progresses, but I should go ahead and mention that I like leaving him a bit mysterious, too. I see him as being extremely old and as having had innumerable experiences...part of the mystique I adore about him (plus it makes the tidbits that come to light even more amazing). Sookie will be showing up at some point - perhaps to have a mental chat with the cousin curing in the basement? I suspect she and Cara will become friends. Sookie hasn't had a chance to make truly good, decent friends among the floatsam and jetsam polluting Bon Temps, so Cara will be a breath of fresh air to her. Thanks for reading!

I like the premise of this story but would like to help a little after reading the A/N at the bottom of this chapter. Yes, Devonshire is in the south. However Chatsworth house and Bolton Abbey are both in the north and are properties of the Devonshire estate, so though the official seat is not north (in fact is one of the more southerly counties of England) it is reasonable to assume the family could be living in one of their northern holdings at the time of your tale. You just have to edit the geography to read Derbyshire or Yorkshire to fit in. (Yorkshire would probably be best as Bolton Abbey is closer to the place the Pilgrimage of Grace started and Henry VIII slaughtered wholesale in the aftermath)

Interesting beginning.
Bella's parents never split up, Renee never followed her dreams and escaped Forks. Thus, Bella has grown up in a constantly overcast small town with a police chief father and a mother who's checked out emotionally. She's still the straight A student whose never met a boy who peaked her interest but she did find other ways to escape her suffocating life.
Edward and the Cullens move back to Forks as they did previous to the first novel, only Bella is already there. Edward is still a vampire with an Edwardian man's sensibilities, and he's still drawn inexorably to Bella, despite her pasttimes.

I'm loving and hateing this story at this point! You may wonder why? First hate... I have to read on a kindle! Scrolling through the web page is unusually hard with this fic as one wrong tap or swipe and it loads another page with a picture and nothing else, pressing the back button means starting at the top of the page again! I have given up reading using the 'print story' link that I usually use as I'm bloody fed up with spending increasing amounts of time scrolling to get back to where I was (and if I slip AGAIN having to reload once more) but I am almost as annoyed with scrolling through chapters now too. I have reloded this one three times! I don't mind the occasional picture but this is ridiculous!!
Rant over. I love the way you are fixing the total cock-up that was season 5 and look forward to a happy ending for our couple... IF I ever reach the end that is.
