you gave us a lemon with Jessica and Edward in a short story about Edward and Bella being in love? i feel jipped! you need to give us at least one more chapter of E and B going way farther than he did with any of those other skanks!

Thanks for reading and the constructive review. The story was written for a contest with an idea in mind and sadly only a 7,000 word count. At one point I wrote a lemon at the end between E & B but it came out too rushed and seemed too sordid for a HEA, so I felt that the fic ended better as it did within the context for the contest.
The lemon with Jessica was less about Edward being with Jessica and more about Edwards realisation that he and Bella had never been a couple and that in his mind that was never likely to happen and that he would have to move on. Of course once he had, he still struggled to get Bella out of his mind and had chosen someone who reminded him of her in looks - he was seeing Bella even though it was Jessica.
Now, my beta is going to kill me, because after writing for 3 contests in a month, I have decided to do a little companion one-shot to this story called 'In Sight of Thee' (from the same Emily Dickinson poem) It will be BPOV and cover her perspective of Edwards beauty and their relationship in school, what happened with creepy James, how she recognised Edward at the magazine and then of course what happened after they left the restaurant. And there will be lots of E&B Lemons...

It's not looking so good for these two...Bella's actually not going to find out for a few more chapters. But I can guarantee you that Edward's not done ruining things.

Wow. I know exactly what you mean. When I was rereading this and doing final edits, I started to tear up as well. I guess that there is some part of this story that truely touches us deep inside. We can relate on some level to the angst of not wanting to be rejected.
