After Renee and Phil die in a car accident on Bella’s 17th birthday. She is sent to live with her father, Charlie and brother, James in Forks WA after being separated for 10 years with no contact. Charlie dabbles in training and placement of the “perfect” wife for exclusive clientele. Bella quickly learns that she’s going that she’s going to get more than a high school education. I am so hopeful that at some point Edward finds out that Charlie was full of crap (and apparently so was Carlisle) in their versions of what Bella did to be punished. That she spilled after almost tripping and getting in trouble AND that she only asked that her father (the perv) not be present when she was examined. She never argued with Carlisle or tried to keep him from examining her. So sad. I kind of thought that she would find Edward to be the exception to the pigs she fell in with when her mom died. I still kind of have faith that he will want to see the sparkle in her eye more than he will want someone who only answers yes to him (as per Stepford Wives). Very interesting. p

Are you kidding? Oh my God, you have us fight and struggle along with Edward and Bella to get them together with some sort of loving relationship to have her say "let me go" once all obstacles are out of the way? Unless you are going to have her AND Edward stay together now or have her come back to him once she is out of college and has her career, this is NOT good. I will wait to pass judgement once the epilogue is posted, but will say that this is the exact reason I try not read stories that are not finished (so that I can make sure that they end well), don't see movies unless I know how they are going to end, etc. Hopefully, the next part will be better. I do love that you killed Carlisle off... and without any of his kids or Bella having to live with guilt over doing it themselves.

I have said from the very beginning this is an Edward/Bella story with a happy ever after. Think about everything Bella has been thru and what she just learned about her life. NOTHING has ever been her decision. Carlisle has been orchestrating her life since birth. She's 17 and can't cope right now. She needs time to come to terms with everything and her feelings. If they got married tomorrow it wouldn't be healthy for Bella. She needs time.
A silent war came that changed everything. Humans are chosen at birth to be a vampires mate. What happens when Bella is given to the God of War on her 16th Birthday? Will she survive the darkness and her mate? Or will she beg for her own death.

I was a little hesitant to read this story after some others that I have started but could not take the abuse in them. However, I kept seeing this recommended in favorite lists (I always check authors I like as they usually don't lead me astray), that I decided to try it out. Your story is very original and actually has a good story line. Hopefully, you will let Jazz pound the crap out of Carlisle as I find an undercurrent of something dark where Bella is concerned. What a great surprise. I just checked last night to see if there were any updates on this story as it is one of the best I have read. This is exactly the chapter that I felt that was needed. I was so curious as to what Peter was going to tell Bella. And I am really looking forward to seeing Carlisle in "James' room". I think that they should let Esme have a few hits and them Jasper should take over for what was done to Bella over the years. I am also really glad that you toned down what was going to happen at the ceremony...I don't think I could have handled the whole nude in front of men in her family thing (don't know why, but it seems so much worse than strangers). I am hoping that you are on a roll now and that it won't be as long as last time for an update. It is excellent and I am looking forward to next time. p

Ack! I knew that would happen or it would be over too soon, but Carlisle is such a creepy character that it makes me kind of sick to my stomach. Having the whole Volturi guard on their side should not bode well for him though. I really love this story and am looking forward to the next chapter already. p

I was so excited to see a new chapter. And it was certainly worth the wait. I was expecting there to be chapters of Carlisle torturing her (thank you for NOT doing that). They should take Carlisle apart and fuse him back together enough times to give each person that loves Bella a chance at him. And then the Volturi should take him to Italy under "grandpa's" supervision for a few years of servitude (spelled sex slave) to any who want to use him. Vengeful, aren't I? Anyway, great chapter. p

I am wondering why the Cullens (at least one of them) did not come out to stay with Emmett when Bella was critical and both of them while she was recovering. That was a boat load for kids to deal with basically alone. Why didn't doctors check to see if Bella had been raped early on? I know at first it was a matter of emergency life saving but after that, they should have checked for evidence. Very emotional chapters and it was at least three kleenexes and actually I finally ended up with a paper towel.

Those are all valid questions, and I am chalking it up to first-time fanfic boo-boos. If I ever go back and re-write this story to improve it, I will def. address those issues.
I think I should include coupons for Kleenex for some of my stories. ;)

you don't need to apologize for repetition as you offer insight from different points of view each time. Unfortunately for me, I also cry harder each time. I think maybe they did not go back and do rape kits or pelvic exams later because they knew her too well and did not want to think that more happened. Embry alluded to them talking about there being something more, but her panic attack stopped that cold. too sad.

Well let's see, every time I read a story that has a very matter of fact therapist that sounds very clinical when rattling off the most traumatic episodes of a person's life, it seriously makes me flinch. A gentler approach is preferred by many, and her being a woman that speaks that way does not make it less intimidating. Then again, there are lots of people that respond to that kind of treatment. It is just strange to think of Bella as that type. I love your Rose.

I always felt that Rose got the short end of the stick in the books. There was a reason why she acted the way she did, and sadly, we only found out late in the game, after everyone had decided that she was a bitch and that was that. I wanted to give her a chance to be helpful, to redeem herself.
As for the matter-of-fact therapy...I've never been in an initial session that didn't end up like that (and I've seen a few therapists in my day). It could be just me, though. ;)

I am liking Victoria better. She lets them talk and is not as direct, but still gets her point across. She is also encouraging them rather than lecturing them, while guiding them. So far Edward has not been at all threatening as he has been nurturing and accepting from the beginning AND she had only her big brother to comfort her for over a year. Plus unless you are going to write another Gone with the Wind, you need to have the story moving along relationship wise. This is an excellent story even if it is gut wrenchingly sad.

I think Victoria will grow on you as the story progresses, and I'm glad that you are okay with the relationship progressing. I really didn't want to drag this story out to be of epic length, seeing as it was my first story and I wasn't sure anyone would want to read it. ;) Besides, we all know that B&E are going to end up together, it was just a matter of when.

Your story was excellent. And it was extremely "hopeful" that there is a better life if you work your way through any current and/or traumas. And I loved your comments about happy endings. I have been reading a story on ff.net that has Bella traumatized and unable to carry on with her life. I had to email the writer to make sure that I would not be hit with a miserable ending after fighting with Bella trying to get better. Some may wonder why just not read it, but like you, I look to hope and avoid those things that do not end well. Life is enough to deal with to find entertainment when there is no purpose other than to verify that there is a chance that life will end up sucking. I choose to think that with help, we can overcome much and so like it reinforced. Thank you for sharing. p

I knew when Edward was telling Carlisle about seeing James dead (just like her), that it was going to turn out that he had seen his mother killed. Who knows, maybe if Bella knows what his fear is, she will quit being such a witch to him. I wonder if that embedded memory played a part in him feeling like a kindred spirit from the beginning. Love this.

Those girls need to lighten up. I think drunkward is hysterical and it is not like he does it every day...no matter what time it was. But yeah, I love sapward and think it is the best proof that we need cloning. Poor Edward though to have carried that nightmare his whole life. It may put thinks in perspective for Bella if she realizes that he can be as sweet, loving and kind after what he has been through, she can and she needs to be kinder to him for sure. It kind of makes it clearer why he stood and let her beat him during one of her tirades. It is amazing that he could live with the books being thrown at him, etc. without his own flashbacks.

Oh, you know Alice...and I think Bella was just nervous about everything coming up.
Edward buried a lot of what happened to him, and I think part of the reason is because he wasn't exactly sure if it was real or not. Memories of a child that young aren't always the most reliable. I mean, I have flashes of my childhood, but I can never be sure they were real.
Starts in the woods after Edward ends his relationship with Bella. What if Bella did act like a 17 yr. old when Edward said goodbye? What if her answer to his request for a promise was NO? I know I never would have agreed to anything he wanted! So why should Bella? Rate nc 17 for good reasons. Reg. Pairs V/H

What a great idea for a story. I wondered why she agreed to his request. Knowing teenage girls as well as I do, she would have disagreed no matter what he said at that point. This is going to be so far out of the scope of Edward's experience (he cannot control things) that it should be a really fun time. p
