FYI - I'm reviewing on both, but you've seen this...
Ah, Trent Reznor, how I do love him.... Great song and it really does fit the theme of this chapter, and the story over all. Now on content... The story is flowing nicely! Your pacing is good and you have just the right amount of suspense and tension there to keep the reader hooked. This one did start out a bit dirty and angsty. Edward really is a bit of a dick at the start of this one. Calling Bella defective was just mean. Transference much? Sparkly boys should not throw stones at hot-ass girls that are willing to get nasty with them. I'm just saying. I know Bella is flawed, clearly, but that does not mean she is without feelings. She is a girl after all, and after nearly sucking her dry Dickward should have been a lot nicer to her. I get he is pissy about his situation and his origins but still. I wonder, is his acerbic personality akin to a mean drunk? Is the blood he took from her his version of whiskey turning him into a spiteful, venom spewing ass hat? Cos seriously, I was a bit surprised she went down on him after what he said. But then again, she was still a bit high from his blood on her fingers. IDK. Esme as the harpy bitch is GENIUS!! I love that you made her the Debbie-Downer of the story, and gave Rose the mother-protector roll. Rose always wanted children, as Esme did, but Rose was denied the same chance in the books. I like that you are giving her the chance here.
So over all I thought it was a good installment! A little cliffy at the end but not a cruel one.

Hello Darling! I do like what you added in here at the parting of our two lovers. You are dropping some great nuggets of what is to come in the future chapters, which I am loving. The mystery with Charlie: what is he, how does he play into this whole story? Who is Edward's bio-dad? Does this guy has some superpowers that will come into play with Edward? And the James thing! Damn! I want to know how she was forced to turn him. How does Esme play into this drama and why is she such a bitch? We know what the usual reasons are for Rose to be that way, but with her being OOC in such a great way, now I want to know about Esme. Is she with Carlisle in this one?
PS? I love the pics you add at the end of the chapters over here! Really a nice touch. This one in particular is so sweet and touching.

Date: 17 May 2010 Title: Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Confession Part 1
All I can say right now is wow. Edward's back story was not at all what I was expecting and it was fantastic! I love the legacy of passing his secret down thru the generations of his family. I love that the Chief is actually his nephew (a nod to Vampire Diaries perhaps?). The interaction with Jasper and Emmett was really fun that Emmett advised him to make Bella jelous with Skanley was awesome and totally Emmett. Edward's fury at how Esme caused all of these issues for Bella, both in the past and now, and how he's indignant thrilled me. I can't wait for the inevitable confrontation brewing there, it has the potential to be epic. And can I say how much I love that he's FINALLY manning up to tell her and show her he loves her? The conversation between Anthony and Edward about him being in love was sweet and funny. I'm glad to see the Chief has retained a bit of his natural snark. With this chapter you answered a lot of lingering questions (thank you!) and set the stage for the next story arch. Great job with that! Your pacing is still going along well, and it is clear that your plan for the story is well thought out. Very satisfying chapter.

The chapter was delicious! I love sweet emo Edward! Finally putting himself out there when she needed it most, opening up and admitting the depth of his feelings and needs for Bella. It was beautiful. And the dividends it paid off for him in the hot sexytimes was well worth I would think! I love that Tanya has now been thrown into the mix! I'm so excited to see how she will factor in to torturing Esme for being a bitch to her girl, and what kind of payback that might entail. The fact that she can guess at Edward's father sees the physical resemblance is astounding. And he is the same one that turned Tanya? That will be a super fun reveal! Is he someone she sees frequently? How does she know of him? Is he just powerful and elusive or powerful and a douche? I can't wait to see how this plays out. You have masterfully laid a trap here with this juicy cliffhanger. I want to know more! You said the change was small, but 2 words just made a HUGE impact on that last sentance. Damn girl.....

OH MY GOD! You COMPLETELY surprised me with the Esme being the one that changed James thing, and the Esme having sex with him thing too! (that was what you were implying, right?) Just .... wow. Carlisle finally realizing his "mate" is a cheating whore. Loved it! Not too much of Laurant or Victoria but just enough of a taste that I really want to see how they will play out. The little nuggret from Victoria's mind about having a home makes me wonder if she will want to abandon James and his nomadic lifestyle and stay with the Cullen's. Who knows, she could be Carlisle's actual mate if given the chance to meet when not preparing for a fight. That would be a fun twist! Kinda mean tho, since there would still be the slight lingering scent of Esme there as a reminder of the chain of events. Sorry, I'm rambling.... I want to comment on the song choice for this chapter too. I love Trent Reznor and NIN but had never heard this song. I went out and found it and really listened to it. The words are perfect for this chapter (great choice to set the tone) and the song itself, with their typical raw sound, and the lyrics? A truly exceptional choice. I liked it so much I downloaded it too!
Edward is going to be so pissed off once they gert him back to the house. This will not be pretty. I really wonder now at what you will have James do to Bella? Will he be able to overpower her and take her against her will? This brings up a basic mythology question for your vamps. Do they get strongrer over time, or does diet factor in more? Bella is much older than James, so if time means strength they she should be able to take him easily, but if diet factors then I'm not sure what that would mean. Yes, Bella is a veggie, but of late she has been feediing off of Edward, so there is that half human, venom enhanced, super blood to be considered. This could be a wild card you can really play with. Also, since Bella and Edward have embraced their fate as mates and marked each other as such, can that link be used to help the family locate Bella, rather than relying on Alice?
As you can see I am full of questions. I really got a lot out of this chapter, even without the big action sequence. It really was not needed here, as you have suspence building towards it. Really good stuff.

Alice barely paused to take a breath there. It seems the best way to manage her is to give her a shitstorm of work and a tight schedule. I love that Em already moved in. So Emmett. Great update, lots of important story progression and just a little bit os anticipation for the grand announcement. Charlis is gonna freak.
I've been thinking about the paternity issue, even tho I am sure you know what you are gonna do. It seems to me that at the time Belll a was raped she was still covered by her scrip. Any antibiotics given at the hospital would not have negated the protection quickly enough for Alec's swimmers to get her egg, so the baby has to be Edward's. Am I right?

She actually was abducted for more then 24 hours before he raped her so she actually missed 2 doses before the rape. I also have not fully decided who the father will be yet. I am really not sure what way I want that to go. Se parts of this story are based on what happened to me. Only the man who raped me I knew and he was not a stalker but my husband whom I filed for a divorce from because he sexually abuse my daughters. I also ended up pregnant from that rape, I have an almsot 13yr old from that. I met a man when I was 5 months pregnant with her (Even though I was not looking for a man!). I fell for him fast and hard, much like Bella and Edward. I married him and he was a great husband and a great man for about 11 years and then he got that middle aged itch and he is now living with a woman who was the brides helper at our wedding. Needless to say I am divorcing him now too. BUT he still to this day claims my daughter is his child to the point that he WILLING agreed in the divorce filings that he woudl pay child support for her and our 2 mutual children. He says she is his and there is no other parent for her but him and I. So I am undecided I have been thinking about it a lot and I am jsut not sure what way I will roll it yet. But then I did nto decide that Alec was the stalker until about 4 chapters before he was outted. I promise you this, whatever I do it will be doen in a good way, I am a HEA kinda girl.

"Besotted" is one of my favorite words!
It seems like the stalker is focusing on the girls a being his biggest obstacle to getting to Bella. Emmett better have a bigger detail for when the girls need to go to class. And I wonder, once the stalker shows his hand by calling her new cell number, will they be able to track it back to Carlisle's class? I would hate to see Carlisle get hurt or let something slip that could be damaging.

I did not get the other review, so sorry....Carlisle is not the teacher I am trying to figure out how you came ot that conclusion maybe i missed somethign I am off to re-read the last few chapters. Carlisle is Rose's Mentor in the fact that he knows what her goal is and he has taken to her strong will and determination to be a in the cardiology field......I have not mentioned the names of any professors, none of them really play that much into the story other then they are teaching classes the girls and the stalker attend. The stalker is a very sneaky devious person and you will see jsut how devious he can be. Most all questions you may have reguarding the stalker will be answered by the 20th chapter. Things go pretty fast from here on out as far as his actions and the actions of the characters in general. I have a great Beta and I can not take credit for the word "besotted" that was all her so kudos to ABBYWARD she is the BOMB! I do however agree with you, the word worked perfectly! I get wordy and she fixes it and replaces it with great words. :) sometimes I manage to do it on my own though! LOL

Nice sweet lemon. I'm glad they admitted their feelings, even if it seems soon. At least they got the meet and greet with Charlie out of the way and he seems to approve. I also like how you show Bella working thru her frustration in a healty activity - cooking. She could have snuck out and gotten herself taken, but she wisely chose to stay with her security and pour her excess energy into a productive, non destructive action.
I wonder how her stalker will take her absence from school? And will he go so far as to hurt Alice or Rose to get to her? I would not put it past him. Once he sees or hears about Edward he will loose his shit, and that will most likely push him to making a critical mistake.
Some questions. If Edward and Bella are both pre-med how did they not have classes together? Are they in different years in their studies? Also, does Edward unwittingly know the stalker too?

I never thought about why or if Edward would know the stalker, so it was never a thought. I will say no that he does not because in later chapters there is no "oh I know you moments" between the 2. As for Edward adn Bella they are in the first 4 years of college right now and Northwestern is a HUGE school, so they could be takign the same classes at different times, or days, ordifferent classes all together. Once they start the Med program in the fall they could have classes together because they will nto be mixed in with all the other students attending Northwestern for all the differnt programs they handle. Northwestern University has a total student population of 17.089 as of July 2010 when this story is set in that same school time frame they graduate from the first 4 years to go on to the specialty training liek med school for them and law school for leah and jounalism for angela, ect. So with that many students and over a 4 year period of time and the requirements for med school being:
They could have taken all those classes plus extra classes but taken them at different times and such. So it would be easy.
I agree on the how soon they had their first sexual experiance together but in my book they are not human on one side and vamp on the other, and much like the book the love and attraction and desire between them evolved fast it did here too. I think that they moved too fast as well, but it had to work that way. I needed them to have that connection and for them to be together before things with the stalker got more hairy. Thanks for sayign the lemon was sweet, it was the first one I ever wrote. Charlie does liek Edward in my story that is importaint. As for the stalker you weill hear from him VERY soon. He is not a happy camper!

Aww, E&B are so cute post-coital. SO now I think you have confirmed the stalker is a TA in one of her classes? Otherwise why would they be asked to help grade tests. I am suspicious of this new tutoring subject tho. Is that a set up? She cannot have anyone in her new home. I can't believe Sam would agree to that with the security issues. I would think they would be able to arrange a secure office or conference room on campus that they could use for the lesson. Divulging her new location is just stupid and her security team has been too smart to allow something like that.

Does not mean that the stalker uses the smarts for the good of all. Ok, I have to ask. Do you live in the Chicagoland area? First you are placing the story at Northwestern, and now you have them going to Woodfield. Now, I live about 10 minutes from Woodfield, and I even worked there for a time in high school. It was really nice to see you mentioned 2 locations within the mall that actually are there. Not everyone who picks a location gets it right, regardless of their best efforts to do so, which makes me think you live here. Just being nosy, feel free to not respond on this. It just tickles me to have local stuff in the story. We have a beautiful city here and it is under-utilized in story telling IMHO.
Poor Bella. They tried so hard to keep her safe. The one time only 2 girls go to the bathroom, and not the whole lot of them, and she gets nabbed. Did Edward see what happened? I'm sure he was watching for her return. Hopefully he did.
One small nugget on Woodfield mall. Having worked there I know a bit about the mall tunnels, for garbage disposal and what not. I am guessing you will have the stalker yank her thru those to get her away. In case you don't know, they do have security cameras down there since the recent remodel/refresh they did, so that could be helpful to the team.

Fangirl~ Your reviews ALWAYS ROCK! I do not live in Chicago, I live in a small ass town in Iowa called Independence, but I was born in Moline Il. I have visited Chicago but have never been to the Woodfield mall, I did research. I did not know that the mall had a Victoria Secret but most do so I ran with that, I did reasearch on the rainforest cafe including thier menu. I did mention the security cameras in the next chapter so you will see that too coming up! I guess I am on the ball huh? Chicago is beautiful the last time I was there I had a BLAST! I wish I lived there or closer anyway because you guys are so lucky there....The Kings Of Leon were just there not so long ago in concert I wanted to go so BADLY!!!! I was there to see AC/DC last year (rosemount) that was the BOMB! My best friend grew up in Chicago well in a suburb of chicago called Naperville. Wow. So this guy has been pining away since he was 7 for Bella. That is crazy. I know, duh, kinda the point! So she recognizes him, and almost said his name, but WE, your faithful readers, are still in the dark. *sigh* I know, that's all part of building the suspense. It was good to know that he created a diversion on his own, and did not have accomplises with him to assist with the abduction. I was a bit worried about him working with others at the end of last chapter. It seemed unlikely, but there was still a chance he had some wackadoo minions. And really, that particular Rainforest Cafe is a freakin' maze! It would be really easy to get separated in that plac. And the layout and decorations would make it really easy to remain unseen until the oportune moment presented itself. Good stuff, once again!

Good and bad in this one. Bad what just happened to Bella but Good that she finally was able to trigger the GPS. And poor Edward is completely lost in his dispair. It seems like the others have someone trying to comfort them, but not Edward. Is that because he refused it or was hostile when it was offered? Or is he just so out of it he doesn't notice that the relief is being given to him regardless of his awareness of it. Charlie must be seeing how this is effecting him, which would just show him the depth of feeling. I'm so glad Charlie approved of E, because this would have been so much worse if he didn't. Good update. Can't wait to see what comes up next!
And off topic, I want to say thanks for the notes you send back to me on my reviews. I really enjoy reading your reaction to my comments. This story has really captivated me, and i kow what you do takes a lot of effort and thought and for that I feel like you deserve a real response. Thank you so much for your kind words, I am really greatful for them. When I finally gave in and decided to write a story I made a pack with my self to try my best to not make people wait forever for the next chapter and to ALWAYS answer each reply/review I got. That comes from the fact that I am currently readign several stories but there are a couple I am reading and have been reading religiously sicne they started and it is as if the authors have jsut given up on them one has not had an update in almost 2 months and the other is almost a month. THAT SUCKS! Then with the reviews, I try to review every story I read and if I am reading it as it goes I review each and every chapter. Reviews mean a lot to those of us who are (like me) unsure if our story really is good and really is worth your time to read. I am glad that you are vested in my story I know I have a small fan club following this story and as much as it would be really nice if more people read it and liked it the way the few of you that are here every update are. YAY! Bella is saved and now can start healing. (And Rose can get busy with Em without risking his job.) He had 2 houses in her name, and a bank account? Can't wait to find out how much is in that account. Which leads me to my question. Where is this psycho getting his bankroll from? I'm guessing you are not quite ready to tell us who the mystery stalker is, but this has me vexed. I also want to know what the assault team did to him when they broke in to subdue him and release Bella.
Poor Bella. I hope she will be able to see how much Edward really loves her. And I suspect she will be stunned to find out how much Charlie approves of him.

He burned his finger print off? SO GROSS! Such a whack job. Charlie has been so win in this fic, and he just continues to deliver. I'm a bit worried that Hurricane Renee will make things worse. Her flaky persona and over reactions might not be such a good thing for B's recovery. And I can't wait to see how she takes to Esme's innvolvement in B's life. Will she be resetful or grateful that there was support available when it was needed? SO looking forward to the big reveal! OH! And whole town of crazy? Awesome.

I actually found Stonegate by google, so it could be. I read lots of reviews about the place and found jsut a ton of awesome photos of the place all set up. I was awed by it and figured it would work in a pinch! That is cool that it is close to you and it is the only place with that name in the greater chi-town area. So must be close to you!

Hey Sweets! Well this was an action packed chapter. I love how completely delusional Alec is. It is just so funny. Thank gawd they chipped Bella. So now that we have a name for the mole in the police department I want to know if Emmett and Garret know him, and if so, do they suspect him? Clearly he's dirty. Is he under investigation? My uncle was Chicago PD Internal Affairs for the last 15 years of his carrer. They crawl u your ass and stay there until they get all the facts, good or bad.

Hey Kasi! Congrats on finishing up this story! I love that Bella was the one to save herself from Alc, proving she was right and kept a cool head with the gun in a crisis. Nothing quite like a threatened momma bear! I too had a c-section and I have to say that first real walk wfter surgery was brutal and exhausting. 2 big upsides? The baby comes out perfect - no squished flat nose, just geogeous baby! And the best one? No bathroom issues after delivery due to ripping or cuttung to assist with delivery (that was a huge faar for me) I'm so gla the babis were Edward's, thank you for that.
You should be proud of thhis story. You wrote a well consstructed, exciting, and compelling tale. Very nicely done!
