Maybe since her eyes have lost a little bit of the haunted look, she is finally getting some help. While I think shutting everyone out (or almost everyone) was not nice, it is a common reaction from people who are used to having to protect themselves. Also, she shut out the guys because she has trust issues with males. Emmett's reaction was an interesting reminder that when we go through a tough situation, it is easy to make generalizations about everyone in that catagory that cause us hurt. Emmett also went through a tough situation but he probably figures he is too much of a man to get help.
