For most of this chapter i thought it was just going to be a filler, to answer questions about what's happening to the school, and where everyone else in the story stands. That was till you hit us with that bombshell at the end. With everything that has happened in recent chapters, i had completely forgotten about Aro. Ooo...i am so curious to see what comes of this. Hopefully he will have answers to James' seeming power and wide-spread influence.

YES! I have been waiting for Aro to arrive!! A short chapter, but so much in it! First, I truly feel for Carlisle. He does not take this lightly, and while he certainly does bear some responsibility, I hate that he is carrying it all on his shoulders. Laurent & James worked the system. Carlisle always had good intentions.
I am so pleased to see him doing everything he can to keep everyone else safe. He truly cares for his students, and I hope he'll be able to reopen the school safely one day.
Second, Rosalie and Emmett - I completely understand how the door was forgotten given their exit. I hate that they feel guilty as well.
Thirdly, ARO!! I mentioned in a review a long time ago that I suspected there was some type of relationship betwixt Aro & James, and you told me I wasn't off-track. I am SO waiting to see exactly how he fits into everything!!

I can totally see James finding them with the tracker he put in Victoria's shoulder. It's too bad no one will think of looking for it. Victoria's trauma is really obvious in every interaction. Even though she was James for about 3 weeks, he was evil to her a lot faster than with Bella who was groomed over a much monger period of time.

Everything is happening so fast. They are all not wasting a single minute. They can't, and they are aware of it.
It's being especially difficult for Victoria, but she has Bella right there next to her. She understands better than anyone could how Victoria is feeling, she has been there sadly.
Alice and Jasper's relationship is unique they go from Dom/sub to a regular couple without warning, it has made Victoria jumpy and shocked, but it has also made Bella realize how much she needs Edward, and what he now means to her.
It was also a big surprise to learn about Carlisle's decision. But given the circumstances at the moment, it might be a good measure.
Jacob is now there and hopefully all of them together will find a way out of this. A way that gets James what he deserves.

I'm so glad that Jasper decided to go with them - I had visions of Edward and the girls being attacked by James and no one knowing where the cottage was. This makes me feel a bit better.
However, they are still out of the loop. They don't know about the chip, and until they do, they will always be one step behind that bastard...
I love that Bella was able to tell Edward that she loves him. I also loved Alice & Jasper's argument - you can see how much they love each other, too. Great chapter! Now, WHERE'S JAMES? lol
