OMG!!! Everything Edward has done is finally catching up! Can't say I feel sorry for him.
He'll probably find some way to blame this all on Bella - brainwash her into believing it was her fault, then psychologically terrorize her some more...if he's able to! Of course, his dad will probably take his place doing that! I feel so sorry for Bella! Her life has been crap, from Charlie, to Edward.
I wish Edward could change, and they have a HEA, but I just don't think that's possible. He has all of these serious legal problems, now, plus he's lied to, and damaged Bella's psyche so bad, that I don't think it could ever be made right. My only hope is that Bella can find her way, and raise their little girl in a HEALTHY environment!

If I were Bella, I would ask for a list of acceptable responses when a man she is supposed to be polite to asks her to leave with him, so she could avoid this type of problem in the future. Of course, if I were in Bella's position, I have no idea how I would really react to any of this. Edward is confusing her on purpose, so she will always try extra hard to be perfect for him. He knows he is being unreasonable, but he punishes her and emotionally abuses her so she becomes even more dependent upon his rare moments of kindness. Still, it would be nice for her to ask how she could have avoided this scenario. Maybe he'll throw her a bone and grant her some sort of escape option for the future. She won't be able to avoid going to the restroom or speaking with Edward's best friend who presumably doesn't know about Edward's lifestyle and proclivities toward emotional abuse without raising suspicions, and he has to know this.

Edward & Carlisle are psycho! Their "methods" and treatment of women is disgusting!!! And Esme's right about one thing...she should have NEVER mentioned the dream! So yes, to some extent, even though Edward definitely overreacted, it was her fault! There was absolutely NO reason to have mentioned it. She KNEW that it was going to get Bella in trouble...she's lived this way long enough to know that! Yet, she done it anyway. :(
And Carlisle is the biggest douche of them all! One, for doing what he's done to Esme, and two, for raising Edward to be a nut like him! Third, for exerting his "dominance" and influence over everyone like he's some kind of family patriarch that is to be looked up to and respected. NOT!!!
Coming over to help his son "discipline" his girlfriend/wife, or whatever she may be, is just utterly insane!!! He should have NO say or influence in his son's home. Edward is a victim of his father's brainwashing and influence too, in a round about way. However, he's an intelligent guy, who has his freedom, and is out in the world everyday...enough to know and realize that this is NOT right or normal! It's a shame that he thinks that this is the only way that he could get a woman, or keep her. Bizarre!
I hope that Esme & Bella can get free, and get the help that they will obviously need. I was hoping that Edward would realize that his father & his ways were wrong, take control of his own life, and start treating Bella with true love & respect...but I'm thinking that it's never going to happen. :(

Wow- I have to say that this is very different and you do an excellent job of taking us all through Bell's ordeal and how she's slowly succuming to the brainwashing. I am concerned that your last author's note said that this would be both HEA and B&E would end up together in the end. Unless there's one hell of a twist coming, I find that very disturbing. Yes, the whole concept you're working with is dusturbing and that in and of itself isn't a bad thing- it's quite creative and done very well so far. What I mean is the idea that they could end up together- if everything is to be taken at face value- being considered an HEA ending is disturbing.
