Bella Swan, an experienced midwife at Forks Hospital meets the new obstetrician, Edward Cullen and the attraction is instant.

As their hands touched, she gasped softly as she felt the shock of electricity that seemed to pass through their skin.  Dropping his hand abruptly, her brown eyes wide in surprise, Bella stepped back.  Without volition, Bella felt her face flame with another cursed blush.  Damn, she was 26 years old.  When was she going to stop blushing like a schoolgirl?

AH/OOC.  Canon couples, eventually.  This is a story of a woman trying to deal with a devastating loss, so there will be sadness, but there will be humor and there will be love.  There’s foul language, eventual lemons, and it’s told in Bella’s POV.  It’s rated NC-17 for a reason.  It’s a love story at its heart, but it’s not an easy one.

When your college degree and $2.25 will get you on a ride on a subway, if you weren’t stuck in the Podunk town of Forks, Bella struggles to figure out her adult life. A job that was a last resort, and a feeling she can’t get rid of lead her down a path she never imagined. Forks Hardware is the beginning of that journey, and it’s easy to see that to work there requires a few loose screws.

Bella and Edward have been friends for as long as they could remember. They grew up together and now, live in the same apartment, ‘saving’ money on rent. Bella was just dumped by her boyfriend, Paul and Edward had been single for a long time. 

One night, Edward drunkenly tells Bella that he’s horny and lonely. They ended up having sex. 

Awkward morning after follows…

Out of everyone they’d been with, Edward and Bella admit that they are really compatible with each other, but a relationship between the two just can’t work. They are almost like family. So, they decide to become friends with benefits…

What happens when one realizes that they want more??
