As I look upon his beautiful face I felt melancholy for a moment. I just realized that Alice and Jasper will be married at the weeks end and Edward and I are not. That thought depressed me. I internally berated myself for thinking like that. Now is not the time to feel jealous or sad.
I looked at Edward again and his eyebrows are knitted in concern.
Shoot, my face betrayed my inner thoughts. I smiled warmly at him trying to show him that all was well.
He gave me a small smile and stood up.
I had to admit that even though I am ecstatic for Alice I am a bit upset that all of this talk about weddings has soured my mood, as jealousy over the fact that Jasper and Alice get to start their new life together in a few short days I will still be just Edwards fiancé and not his wife.
“I had the same thoughts this afternoon. Jasper was talking about their plans and dreams and the whole time I was thinking how I wished it was us instead.”
Bella’s eyes widened with surprise.
“Really?” she gasped.
“Yes, really. I was green with jealousy. I have dreamt of our lives together so many times since I have met you and all I could think about was how that should be us too. So please don’t fret about feeling like this.” I pulled her face towards mine, placing a gentle kiss on her lips.
“Let’s see if Alice and Jasper would like to have a double wedding.”
“Edward, let’s do it…let’s get married this weekend.”

Jasper missed the pass I threw and it went into the crowd. My eyes fell on Bella, who had picked up the ball. Jasper held his hands out for it and she just smirked at him. She then cocked her arm back and threw the ball back to me. I had to jump to catch it. Fuck me. I looked at her in astonishment and she just waved at me. I’ve never seen a girl throw a ball like that.I watched Bella walk to the picnic tables where she met up with Tanya. I could tell by Tanya’s face that it wasn’t going to be pretty. I started to go over when Emmett stopped me. We stood and listened as best we could from where we were. I didn’t hear everything, but it was clear that Bella was handling Tanya just fine on her own. It was plain to see that some kind of disagreement was taking place, but Bella had the upper hand. She left Tanya standing there gaping and pissed as a wet hen. That shit was hot. I’d never seen anyone put Tanya in her place so easily. Bella’s eyes were blazing and fuck if that didn’t turn me on. If I was a different person, I might’ve dragged her out to my mother’s garden shed to show her just how much.
“Holy shit,” Emmett whispered as we watched Bella walk away.
“Yeah,” I breathed.
Alice had put a jacket on, asking Bella if she had brought one. She had her arms around herself, trying to warm up. I snatched up my sweatshirt and offered it to her. She was surprised by the gesture and thanked me, putting it on. Now, I’ve never been one to like it when a girl wore my clothes. In fact, when Lauren did it, it pissed me off. So, imagine my surprise at the reaction I had seeing Bella in my sweatshirt.
I’d had enough of this bitch.
“Look, I don’t know who the hell you think you are, but you need to back the fuck off. If Edward was interested in me, I assure you that I would be more than enough for him. Unlike you and your fake tits and your nasty looking dyed hair, which by the way I saw him react to you, is not his type, either!” I grabbed a bottle of water and waked away leaving her mouth hanging open.
“No, that’s okay. I think I’ll try to find his home. Thanks. Goodnight.”
I got into my apartment and found an old blanket for the puppy. There was some left over cooked ground beef in the fridge. I put it in a bowl and got another with water and gave it to him.
I took a picture of him and made up a flyer. ’Did you lose me?’ it said below his picture. I printed up a few to tack up tomorrow before I left for Forks.

I woke up to a warm body lying next to me. The little guy jumped up to sleep with me sometime during the night.
“Hey, you. What are you doing?” I said, holding him up to see his face. He licked me.
I placed him on the floor and got up to look for damage. I was pleasantly surprised to find nothing amiss. No messes, nothing chewed.
“Good Boy!” I told him, scratching his head. Now that I got a good look at him, he looked like a Boxer. I put a pair of sleep pants on and the sweatshirt I had worn the night before. Just because it was right there. And still smelled delicious. I then took the pup outside.
I was nervous about it, not having a leash. I hoped he didn’t run off. As it was, he did his business and walked right back to me.
“Huh. Alright then, come on.” he followed me to the elevator and then down the hall to my apartment.
I showered and dressed quickly, thinking that I’d better stop somewhere and buy a few things since I was going to take care of him until his owners claimed him. I found another blanket for my car and we left. Along the way I posted a few of the flyers.
I stopped at a superstore, posting another flyer before buying some food, a bowl, a collar and a leash. I gave him some food right away, figuring he’d be hungry and we took off for Forks.
“Bella, if no one claims that dog, you should keep him. Single woman, living alone. Having a dog around would be good. Just train him up a bit and you’d be all set,” my dad suggested.
“I may just do that, Dad.” I smiled warmly at my father.
I told her about the dog, which seemed to excite her. She said that I should bring him, assuring me that no one would mind.
It was starting to rain again. “Can you find me an old towel? Or just some paper towel? I don’t want to let him inside all wet.”
I found an old towel for her and held the dog while she wiped him down. We joined the rest of my family for another game.

“Yes, pretty good. Um, thanks for watching the dog. Why do you have him, anyway?”
“I heard him whining so I just brought him over with me,” he said matter-of-factly.
“Oh. I’m sorry he bothered you.”
“He didn’t bother me. He’s just a pup and was lonely.” Edward moved closer to rub the dog’s head, “Weren’t you boy?” He moved his attention to me. “I just had him out a little while ago, so he should be good for a while. Here’s your key.” he reached into his pocket producing my key.
I held the dog towards him. “Did you bring food over for him?”
“Yeah, I grabbed his food bowl and got him some water. It’s in the kitchen.” He thumbed over his shoulder towards the room.
I knocked and opened the door just peeking in. I opened the door and walked in, taking in the sight before me.
Edward was on the floor playing with the puppy. It was licking him, and wriggling around. I laughed and Edward’s head popped up.
“Hey,” he said, looking a little embarrassed.
“No problem, Cullen. Your secret is safe with me.” I told him.
“It’s complicated.” I said shaking my head slightly. I looked up at him.
He looked me in the eyes and said, “I think I can keep up.” I was lost for a moment in his gaze.
“If I tell you, you tell me?” I wasn’t spilling my guts unless I got something back. He nodded.
“Full version or abbreviated?” I asked him.
“What the hell, might as well get it all over with at once, don’t you think?” He asked.
“No Edward. It sounds to me like she was fully aware of what she was getting into. Granted, she may not have been cut out for that kind of life, but that is on her. Not you.” Bella looked angry. “Didn’t she have any friends? Family? Hell, she could have gotten a dog.” Bella picked up the pup as she said this.
“Do you have anymore? I can go out tomorrow and put a few more up.” I offered.
“You wouldn’t mind? That would be great. I can print a few more up. How many do you want?” Bella was practically glowing. It didn’t take much to make her happy.
I went to the drawer in the kitchen that should hold the take out menus. At least, it used to. I haven’t opened the drawer since I’ve been home. Nope, not there. I started checking all the others. The bitch actually took those? She probably would’ve taken the ice cube trays if the fridge didn’t already make ice.
“What are you looking for?” I didn’t hear Bella come back in.
“The menu for the Chinese delivery place a few blocks away. Apparently Lauren needed it in California.” Fucking bitch.

“Oh, that’s right.” He didn’t know that I was keeping the dog and had named him. “Jake is what I named my dog,” I explained.
Edward laughed and looked relieved. “Of course. Bring him over.”
“Uh, no. I will not wake you up just so you can slave over a hot stove. Unless it’s Thanksgiving or Christmas,” he added with a chuckle.
“Alice?” Bella asked. Apparently she didn’t know that my darling sister had quite the appetite, especially when it comes to pizza.
“Yeah, she’s kind of like a hummingbird. They expel so much energy, they have to eat a lot to replenish themselves.” We both were still laughing when the elevator opened on our floor.

Jake and I had become tolerant of each other. He was friendly enough, but I had a sneaking suspicion that he was the culprit of my recently missing boxers. I already knew he stole and hid my shoes. He was growing fast and was going to be huge. He’ll make a good guard dog. That thought made me feel a little better about leaving Bella.
I held the tiny box in the palm of my hand and presented it to her. Bella picked it up and opened it. She looked at the key and then me, waiting for an explanation, I suppose.
“It’s to my apartment. I want you to have it. And before you say anything, I would have given it to you whether I was leaving or not.”

“Say what you came to say then get the fuck out. DO NOT disrespect her again or you’ll be dealing with me. You‘ll be lucky if I don‘t kick your ass anyway,” Edward warned. I watched as James actually paled from Edward’s words.
“Well James, I neither want or need your apology, so I won‘t be accepting it. I have already moved on from you. You didn‘t do anything that Edward couldn‘t fix. I wish you nothing but the best but, after today? I‘ll never think of you again” He and Edward both looked at me in surprise. “Goodbye.” I opened the door and watched him walk out.
Bella also gave in to a combined bachelor/bachelorette party. It was more like a dinner party with gag gifts and lingerie. It was fun, though. We weren’t going to be spending our last single night apart, either. Nothing with us had been conventional, so why start now?
“Jake! Let’s go get married, buddy.” I had to put my foot down about Jake being in the wedding. Alice wanted to tie the rings to a ribbon and hang them around his neck. I don’t think so.
Our house will always have a stash of Ring Pops. Hidden, of course.

“Jake, I’m pretty sure that Bella is perfectly content staying with us.” I looked at her for confirmation. She nodded emphatically. “Furthermore,” I winked at Bella, “I thought I told you that she is my girlfriend.”
I moved so that I was directly in front of Jacob, inches away from his face. “Back. The Fuck. Off. I don’t want to have this conversation with you again,” I warned quietly.
“Yeah, no problem. I got it, Cullen,” he sighed, looking past me at Bella.
“Great!” I said happily, clapping him on the shoulder. “See you around Jake.”

“What in the hell are you doing here?” Bella yelled. This ought to be good…
“He is the one that BROUGHT those fuckers here. Apparently they scared him into it!” I informed her.
Bella turned five shades of red and stormed over to Jake. She slapped him hard across the face and kicked him in the balls. He doubled over and fell, cupping his junk and groaning.
I scooped up Bella and kissed her long and hard. Watching her put that fucking douche in his place was really fucking hot.
“Hey. What about Jacob?” Alice asked. Everyone looked at each other and we all busted out laughing. We left his sorry ass at the cabin.
“Fuck him. He can find his own way home,” I said, thoroughly disgusted.

Bella fit into our lives perfectly. She had made and put into action suggestions that helped our facility grow. We were able to expand with all the donations pouring in. Her ideas about the pre-adoption forms turned out to be genius.
Jake moved away just before Bella and I were married. After the town found out about him bringing the mob guys right to Bella, he was essentially ostracized. Because of his arrogance, he tried to ignore all the whispers and looks. It got to him after a while and last I heard, he moved to New Mexico.
Bella gave birth to a beautiful baby boy a year and a half after we were married. Best birthday present ever. He was the perfect combination of us both. Charlie had brown hair and green eyes and his facial features were a mix of us both.

She squealed, clapping her hands while she jumped up and down. "This is fantastic!" She bit down on her lip, scrunched her nose, and proceeded to do the running man. "Ugh. Ugh. Ugh!" She grunted out.
I laughed at my silly, beautiful wife and wondered what the fuck was going on in that head of hers. "Where are we going?" I asked, hoping she'd calm down.
"WE ARE GOING TO THE WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER!" She shrieked out. "YEAH BUDDY!" She frowned. "Caius is dead—but fuck him we're going to UNIVERSAL STUDIOS! WOOT-WOOT!" She ran from me.
I walked to follow her, and saw her grab her cell from her purse. "Who are you calling?" I asked.
"Esme..." she looked to her phone.
I grinned at her. "Did you do all that just to get a vacation out of me?"
She shrugged. "Yeah, you're so damn easy—you know what I mean."
"No, I don't." I laughed.
She blew out a breath. "Lexi is gorgeous, and I have no idea why you're with me and not her...but you are with me...you're mine, and...I don't fucking know. Yeah, it pisses me off that she's around. But whatever. What can I do?" She squealed again. "Let's drop it."
I nodded.
"-and you go lay down." She nudged me. "You need your energy for Potter-world. I'll handle everything. I just need to call Esme to see if she'll watch Brutus."

Dr. Smith laughed. "During the first trimester hormonal havoc is at an all time high. An increased—insatiable libido is also a symptom, yes." He nodded.
I raised an eyebrow at him.
"But being married to such a handsome young man—" he rushed out.
I winked at him, feeling giddy. "It was that smooch, wasn't it?"
"Um..." He slightly shook his head.

I nodded and stood up, then I picked Bella up bridal style. "Put me down."

"What are they doing?" Carlisle whispered.

I looked behind me to see that we were all looking out the window, even Laurent.
"Oh…" Edward said. "What's so…anyway…" He began to talk to his friend again, while Carlisle and I continued to look.
Then I gasped when I saw Aro lean into Christina. "He's leaning—get the bat." I pushed Carlisle. "Hurry!" I was seething. "I'mma get that motherfucker!"
"What—get who? Bella?" Edward turned me to face him.
"Here," Carlisle laughed and handed me the bat.
I smiled, and then frowned when Edward grabbed it. "Bella…" Edward palmed my cheek with his freehand. "Snap out of it," he said 'cause he knows how I get. "Christ…" He turned back to his friend. "I feel like…I'm married to Lucy. You know from that old show?"
Laurent laughed. "I Love Lucy?"
Edward nodded and stared back to me.
I shrugged and looked everywhere but to him. I'm crazy. So, what? Fuck. He's stuck with me now…
"Hit me."
"What?" I stared up at Edward like he was crazy, but most of all I wondered why he didn't answer my question.
"Let go of the aggression…let it go…hit me. Us guys do it all the time. Once you hit me—FUCK!" he shouted after I hopped up and punched him in the face.
I felt so much better, but cried anyway. "I just hit you…" I panicked. "What's wrong with me?" I sobbed and needed to sit down.
"I'm fine…" Edward held his jaw. "You're fine…I thought you'd hit my arm or something." He grinned down at me. "My baby's momma packs the heat." He bent low to kiss my hand.
I sobbed harder, and thought I was losing my mind.
"Why are you crying?" Edward hugged me. "Don't cry…you'll make me cry…"
I giggled through my tears.
He sighed and rubbed my back. "My Bebella…please calm down…"

I blew out a breath as tears filled my eyes, but then… "Why is Fat Tony here?" I whispered.
"What?" Edward screamed and he continued to scream while I almost shit my pants. I was scared now, and yet Edward didn't sound like he was driving at all. I noticed that—amongst all the other bullshit—he didn't sound like he was in a car at all.
"Where are you?" I whispered. "He said you were in an accident."
"I'm so glad you're smart—most people would have dropped everything and ran into the car with him. I'm guessing that was his plan." Edward chuckled bitterly.
Time sped up after I fired two quick shots in his face. He collapsed back with a hard thump and I advanced toward him. With hate in my heart and fire in my hands, I shot him once more—at close range—in his head, only to scream when his blood splattered me.
He was dead. He lay lifeless before me, and my job had been done.
That was when I froze. I didn't know what to do, and stared down at the puddle that developed before me. There was so much blood—
I ran into the bathroom and kneeled in front of the toilet. Bile burned my throat, and I continued to dry heave, all while the house phone rang and rang.
It was Edward, no doubt.
On my hands and knees, I crawled to the phone on Edward's nightstand. "It's done," I whispered.
There was silence on the other end.
"Did you hear me?"
"I—I can't fucking believe—Christ, are you okay?" He was sobbing now and he didn't try to hide it this time.
I nodded and tried to ignore Tony's foot. I could see it in my peripheral, but refused to turn my back fully away from him.
"Bella…clean yourself up and go," Edward whispered. "Just go…grab the dog and go."

I placed a forkful into my mouth and chewed. Then I placed the fork down while I tried to swallow. "Why does this taste funny?" I asked.
"They're gluten-free. They're supposed to be better for you or something." He went to the coffee pot. "Lau bought them."
"Ah…" Since they weren't that bad, I started to eat again.
"Is your order on the screen correct?"
I glanced at it. "Yes."
"Please hold for your total."
"What?" I asked. "Fuck this." I drove up to the window and paid for my shit. It's supposed to be fast food, not twenty questions. And what's the deal with checking to see if my order was correct? Bitch forgot my damn fries any-fucking-way.
I reached over her and pushed the button. "You can just—"
My sweet, beautiful wife's face morphed into one of a demon. I took my arm back and didn't recognize the person before me. "What did you do?" She screeched. "I like pulling it. I get the full effect—you!" Then when the machine started speaking in a broad's voice and dinged a bit, she turned back into Bella. "Oh…you must be good luck…Ten bucks. Woot-woot!" She pulled me next to her. "Hit it again, baby!" She pinched my ass, and I played along.
"Marcus…he's dead."
"Fuck!" I nearly shouted. "I just—I just spoke to him last night. Was it his heart?" I smiled. "He was supposed to cut down on all that shit…I can't believe…" I pretended like I was in shock.
"You did it," she whispered. "That was the plan…it would have been fucked up…he-he-he…" She became excited, like she was solving a mystery. "He sent Tony to come clip me. Marcus had beef with you, and the only way to hurt you would be to hurt me. He would have made me disappear, like I left you. And then, when you were sad and lonely…he would have done something." She tapped her chin and looked up to the ceiling.
My response was to laugh. "That's quite a story…but it's not true. Aro saw—"
She gasped. "Aro…what about Aro?"
I looked down. "He was shot in the shoulder…his arm. He was coming out of the car to defend Marcus."
She dug her nails into my biceps and started to hyperventilate.
"Don't do this," I said. "You're getting upset for no reason. Bella, he's fine…he'll be home tomorrow. They're keeping him overnight, but trust me, Aro's had worse."
She started to hit me repeatedly, and those small tiny fists actually hurt. I think it was because of the water. They felt like sharp slaps. "You shot your friend!" She scolded through a whisper. "How could you? I know it was you!" She continued to hit me.
I let her do it until she slipped. She lost her footing, and I was quick to catch her. "Are you finished?"
She gritted her teeth—bared her teeth, like she was going to bite me.
"Relax." I kissed her teeth. "Calm the fuck down, animal." I squeezed her butt cheeks and held her close.
"Everything you said is a great theory, but it's simply not true." I kissed her nose this time.
Date: 30 Sep 2011 Title: Chapter 37: Baby Blues

"I have Oreos in the kitchen…Edward said you've been on an Oreo kick."
I stuck my tongue out. "Until I ate a whole package because no one was around and threw them all up. I can't…I'm into Goldfish crackers this week." I bit my lip. Now I really wanted a cheesy goldfish. "Fuck," I whispered.
Now I'll be aching to get out of here, just so I can have some. Once it enters my mind, it becomes an obsession until I satisfy my craving.
"We have Ritz crackers…and some provolone?"
"That'll work….but not right now, thanks." At least I can have those if it becomes too much. I will overcome this, dammit.
The next day, I finally got my show, and it was one I hated to see.
Before they lowered Marcus into the ground, Didyme threw herself onto the coffin. It was the saddest thing I had ever seen, and caused a few thousand tears to spill from my eyes. I cried all afternoon and lied. I said it was because of Marcus, but it really wasn't.
Edward is now in Marcus's shoes. It made me think about too much morbidity. I thought about my own death and, more importantly, Edward's.
She cupped her cheek. "I can't believe you hit me."
"You're lucky I'm pregnant or else I'd force you into the shower." I snorted. "Dude, seriously." My eyes trailed down her body.
She scooted away from me. "Remind me…if I'm ever about to jump out a window, not to call you."
"I know you aren't going to get better overnight. You need to talk to someone, who has the—patience of a saint." I chuckled. "I just want you to take the first step. We love you—we all love you, even Hanna. I know she misses you. She spent more than nine months with you. Maybe that's why she cries. She misses her momma." I jutted my lower lip out.
"You think so?" she whispered.
I nodded. "Esme, you're such a good mom. I saw you at that hospital. You're a natural, and once you have her in your arms, it'll all come back. You two must have a bond. When she was crying just now…I couldn't hear it, and yet you did."
I looked down to Hanna. "You're fine, right? Beautiful little munchkin…" I tickled under her chin. "Hanna banana, lives in Montana, but wants to move to Al-a-bama," I sang. "She drinks Tropicana, and settled on Louis-i-ana," I giggled.
"Oh God…please…stop," Jacob said.
I made eye contact with him. "Hanna banana is Americana—Italiana, likes to sit in the ca-ban-a." I did a little shimmy. When I looked to Esme, she wore a wide smile.
"Wow…you just came up with all those words that rhymed with Hanna…like that?" Carlisle snapped his fingers.
I shrugged.
I waved an arm to get Jacob's attention, and when that didn't work, I quietly backed out of the dining room to grab my purse.
I sent him a text message.
Peek-a-boo, I see you—Bella
"Listen, and listen good." Edward seethed, squaring his shoulders and standing to his full height. "Respect…respect comes from admiration or fear. One way or another, you will respect me. I promise you that…even if you finally realize it when you take your last breath. Now get the fuck out of my house." Edward pointed to the door. "Go cry to my father." He turned and locked eyes with the son. "And you—" He grasped his chin. "Maybe you should go cry to your mother." He turned his face to Petey.
And then he let go, like nothing had happened. He walked behind his desk and straightened out his jacket.
Those men…their faces paled. I believe they got the hint, because God help them if they didn't.
I hid again, as Caius walked out of the office. When he was a few paces away, he turned back to me.
I gulped and placed my finger over my mouth.
Caius quietly laughed and continued on his way out. He's another cool one. Caius is a really nice guy, but he turns from nice to creepy in no time flat. I think he enjoys all that cleaning and killing. That day—when that thing happened with Tony and I came back to the house—Caius gave me hug. He was proud of me and said he couldn't have done it better himself. Then he went on to analyze the bullet wounds I inflicted. He also explained where else I could have shot him…for maximum damage.
"Bella? You can come in now," Edward said.
I bit my lip as I poked my head in. "Hi." I waved, like an ass. "How long have you known I was standing here?" I walked into the room.
Edward smirked at me and patted his thigh. "Since I saw you creep to the other side of the door."
I didn't reply and sat on his lap.
Date: 30 Sep 2011 Title: Chapter 38: Skip's Day Off

"We'd like to know the sex first…is he, uh..." I pointed. Unless I squinted, I myself could only make out the outline of our child.
The nurse nodded. "Yup…We're getting flashed, all right," she laughed. "You guys ready?"
I nodded while I grasped Bella's hand tightly.
"Wait!" Bella shouted. "What if…Edward," she said and looked to me. "How many surprises do we really have in life? We should wait."
I kissed her temple. "I'll buy you something during the week—it'll be a surprise." I looked to the nurse. "Tell us."
"Mom?" Bernadette asked.
Bella grinned at me and nodded her head. "Tell us," she said.
Bernadette paused the wand and with her free hand pointed to the screen. "You see that—that little thing right here? Those are the genitals—I see a penis."
"YES! I fucking KNEW it!" I screamed and jumped up high. "I told you!" I punched the air. "Whoo! I am the FUCKING man!" I walked with a swagger and felt so happy. Then I turned back to Bella. She was crying her eyes out, a sobbing mess. "You did good." I wrapped my arms around her. "I love you."
"I—I—we're having a boy," Bella said.
The nurse and I both nodded; meanwhile, I bet if we were having a girl, we'd have the same reaction. Maybe I wouldn't be so happy about being correct, though.
There was a knock on the door. Dr. Smith poked his head in. "It's a boy!" I shouted.
Dr. Smith laughed. "I figured—with all that screaming." He walked in to take over for Bernadette. "Yes," he said. "A boy…congratulations…no kisses." He waved a finger at me.
I widened my arms. "Come on…you love it."
"Edward, stop." Bella chastised.
I massaged her shoulder. "You are not. I'm sorry if you thought we were doing that, but…we weren't," I said. "I'm sorry." I felt it best to just apologize. "Listen to you…'extend'…No, like I said, she doesn't feel good. I'll probably order pizza. Did you want pizza?" I asked.

Since Bella isn't "always" in the mood anymore, I received ten "blow job" coupons that I can use whenever I want. She made them out of red construction paper—nothing fancy—and those were the best gifts I have ever gotten.
Then I called Aro while I stared at my lonely coupon.
"You on your way?" I asked.
"Yes." He didn't sound too happy.
"I need you to stop at the drug store—or a paper store. I need red construction paper." I smiled. Surely, I can make some counterfeit "blow job" coupons.
"What?"
"Red paper—like the shit from elementary school. Paper hearts—shit like that," I said.
"You got it."
I nodded and ended the call.
Once we entered my office, I showed Carlisle the coupon. He has always been a master at forgery. When I was a kid and Nanny needed to sign something for me, Carlisle always did it. Nanny was strict as hell, and Carlisle always saved me from a beat down.
"Remember all those truancy cards you used to sign?" I asked.
Carlisle nodded and placed the coupon down.
"You think you can make a few more of those?" I pulled out a black Sharpie and the scissors. "Aro should be here soon with the paper."
"I can try," Carlisle laughed. "Can't you go a day without breaking a law? Don't you think it's…"
"What?" I rocked back in my chair.
"Nothing…You're just so serious about it," he laughed some more. "You want me to make fake blow job coupons?"
I nodded with a straight face. "What's the problem?"
He sighed. "There isn't one."
"Good," I said.
"How are you receiving it?" he whispered.
I shrugged. "Hedwig the Owl is going to deliver it. What the fuck do you care?" I laughed.
"You think you can make these? The bubbly lettering and all?" I pushed the coupon toward him.
He nodded. "Yeah." He grinned. "This is kind of adorable. Bella is—" Carlisle sounded a little wistful so I had to stop him. If he blurted out some lovey-dovey shit, I'd pop a cap in his fucking knee.
"Get that look off your face," I said.
"Ed…" He frowned.
"Stop," I said. "Just stop while you're ahead, bro."
He nodded. "Did you look around? She probably has a stack of this paper somewhere."
I shook my head no. "Bella might know those are fakes—she'll look and see if paper is missing, but she'd never think I'd go out and buy more."
He nodded. "Right…'Cause only a sick fuck would go so far for a blow job."
"Hey," I said. "It's not like I'm letting someone else suck my dick. Bella needs a coupon; I'm happy to make more."
"Get crackin'." I tossed the paper over to Carlisle.
He opened his mouth to respond, and then there was a knock on the door. I jumped. "Hide that." I hissed in a whisper. Carlisle was quick to sit on the paper, throwing the scissors and marker under the chair.
"Bella, why don't you go start on dinner?" I asked. "It's already close to seven—"
"Fuck you…order pizza, and if you show me a coupon…I swear to Christ!" She shook her fist.
I tried not to laugh. "Bella," I said in a soothing tone.
She huffed and dropped her shoulders. "I'm making chicken…
"My parents are still married. I grew up in a loving home—had a normal childhood, and I grew up to be a glorified hit man. What the fuck is my kid going to grow up to be?" He stood up.
I shrugged.
"You don't think about it?" Aro looked to me. "I can see it now…a little Edward and a little Aro…setting things on fire and trying to steal shit."
I threw my head back and laughed. "Relax."
"Next thing you know, they're out there earning bones or something—nuh uh—this is fucked. I can't have a kid!" He ran his hand through his hair. "We'll raise little serial killers and Hanna—Oh hell. She'll be swinging from a pole at Eclipse—"
I winced when Carlisle hopped up to punch Aro in the face. "What the fuck, bro?" Carlisle shouted.
I laughed out loud again. "You guys are great." I shook my head. "I swear…better than…than a fucking Broadway play…not that I've ever been to one." I shrugged and continued to laugh.
"I should whip out a coupon."
"Didn't you use your last one yesterday?" she asked.
I didn't reply and bit her earlobe.
I did the politician thing. I went around to each table with Bella and thanked the women for coming.
The three of us walked straight into the VIP area, where my supposed shower was. That too was decorated in blue. There were a few "It's a boy" signs, and everyone was ready to greet me with a hug and an envelope.
"We all go back a long way, so don't mistake our kindness for weakness." I took hold of the back of his head. "Just 'cause you won't get iced for whacking the kid, don't think you won't for being out of line. Understand? You speak to Aro just as you'd speak to me."
Even if her grandson won't be a purebred Italian—can you believe that? Like we're talking mutts and pedigrees over here." He shook his head.
"Thank you," I said and lightly touched Jacob's cheek with my knuckle.
Thank you for the shoes, looking out for Bella, and painting my fucking ceiling, I thought.
"You did good, kid," I whispered to Jacob, before Jasper pulled the trigger.
I practically ran up to the VIP area to snatch up the envelopes where I had left them. No outsiders were allowed in the lounge, and no one in their right mind would rip me off.
"We have to do the same as all the other gifts."
It's sick, but so like a sneaky fuck, a fed, to sneak a wire into a baby gift. Everything we have received so far has been nearly dissected. It's far-fetched, but not impossible. I am their number one target. They're gunning for me.
"Of course," Bella giggled. "That's why I told Nanny to have them deliver the stuff to her house." She's always keeping me on my toes with the element of surprise. She's getting it—this thing.
I grasped Bella's hand. "Are you too tired for…?" I reached into my pocket for that coupon. "A BJ in the limo?" I held it up and smiled while I tried to iron out the creases with my fingers. "It's wrinkled, but still good." I went to hand it to her.
She pushed my hand away. "Tomorrow?"
I continued to grin as I placed it back in my pocket. At least she didn't notice it was a fake or remember that I used my last one yesterday.

King Edward will learn that it is Bella's parents responsible for her injuries. They will receive their comeuppance, but I would like to state that in the Tudor era what occurred within this chapter would not have been considered abuse, rather it would have been seen as correcting unruly behaviour for a lady to exhibit. However all this will not become known until a later chapter.

Why the hell doesn't Bella have her parents killed? They are guilty of treason for their treatment of the Queen afterall?
These characters are all just vile even for the time period.
I'll give this story one more chapter before I decide to leave it or not....I don't deal well with cruelty and abuse. This was supposed to be a romance and it is reading more like Horror.
Author's Response:
Bella is not a strong person. She has been belittled all her life which has affected her inner strength and self esteem. She is also extremely careful and cautious about who she trusts with the secrets she hides. I understand that there are people who do not like my style of writing romance. I prefer to have the characters face many trials before love and romance can be discovered and brought to life. I hope the next chapter will give you some of the romance you are looking for, but I will warn you that there is still a little more angst to come.

"What?" I quirked a brow.
"He touched her." His voice rose. "I didn't like that shit."
"Calm down," I said.
He puffed out a breath. "Hanna said he goes to her school. His name is Landon or something like that. He's older, a ninth grader."
I grinned. "So…why did you hit this kid again?"
"Because he touched her—Katie, and I didn't like it." He pointed to himself. "I'd kill that asshole if I could—"
Aro cut him off by slapping a twenty into his palm. "You did good."
Honestly, I thought so too, but I couldn't say that. "You know fighting is wrong—"
"What would you do if someone touched Mom—like her hips?"
I shrugged. "She's my wife—belongs to me. Katie belongs to Aro." I jerked a thumb.
"I love her!" Sonny all but screamed, and Aro took his money back.

Sonny stood up, making his chair hit the wall. "Whatever…I didn't like it, and it just happened. Now Katie hates me…so be happy about that!" He stormed out of the kitchen.

Along with six hundred dollars cash, Sonny had a slingshot, a bottle of wine—which hadn't been opened—a decent-sized pocketknife, and a picture of a pair of small tits—it was a Polaroid, and my bet is that they're Katie's breasts. Edward said he wanted to poke his eyes out with a spoon after he saw it.
"Your little treasure chest?" I couldn't hold it in and found myself giggling. "Daddy found it days ago." Overall, Edward thought it was hilarious, too—having that "boys will be boys" attitude.

I chuckled, finding the kid funny.
"My kids are full-blooded," I whispered under my breath. It never meant anything to me. All the worries about my children getting involved in my business never truly mattered. They couldn't, since some rules just can't be broken. Now, if they wanted to, Damion and Sonny could join the organization, get their buttons one day.
Then he turned to me. "Things work out and our families get close," he waved a finger, "don't lend my son any money."
I laughed again. "I'll remember that."
"I'm serious . . . he's Irish, mostly Italian, and all balls. He thinks he's a tough guy and tries to hang around his uncle every chance he has. He's a good kid, just a little stunad. He doesn't think." He pointed to his temple. "And you, he'll idolize you, try to get as close as he can."
"Huh?" I mused.
"I've been doing my best to keep him away from all that garbage."
"Yeah." I nodded.

"Just tell her, or better yet have Edward do it," Rosalie urged. "He has that—no nonsense way of speaking. She'll comply out of fear."
The coward I am did consider it.
"Eddie is so not scary anymore," Alice laughed.
"Wanna make a bet?" Rose fanned her face, the wine making her flushed. "He keeps all his guys in line. Renee'll shake in her boots."
"No. You did—you did it all! You cheated on your husband, and I had to suffer for it! Instead of owning what you did, instead of being a woman, you cowered—you had him punish me for your mistakes!" I ranted.
"You little—"
"Mom, come on." Emmett tried to usher her away.
"You had to stick your nose in where it didn't belong!" She kept going, getting closer, and I blocked her from my husband, pushing her hand and that finger away from him.
"Get your finger out of his face!" I shouted. "You don't get to talk to him like that, you hear me?"
"Bella." Edward stepped forward, placing me behind himself. It seemed we both wanted to defend each other. "Renee, I think you need to take that walk. We all need to relax. Derek—"
"Don't tell me what to do. You're not the boss of me!" And she pushed Edward, planted her hands on his chest and just pushed. My husband didn't move. He stood there like a wall, making sure I couldn't get to her.
"I just want to talk to her. Emmett will be there, Derek too."
Edward looked around us. "What can't you say in front of me?"
"Nothing—God." I was exasperated again. "Come if you want." I'd hated to admit that I only wanted to go out there so that I could maybe smack her mouth, hurt her in some way, and Edward would never let me.
"Carlisle forged some paperwork . . . DJ is the newest witness against Luke."
"What?" I was confused.
"C got it from one of his Fed buddies—some fuck on the take." Edward looked around us. "He's in WitSec."
"Witness protection." I had a short chuckle. "That's original. Why not just say he ran off with some chick?"
"Because . . . a man like Derek needs evidence. Carlisle fudged the 302 report, placing all of DJ's info on it. It worked. He sure as hell won't be bothering Luke anymore, nor would Derek bring it to his attention." Edward rushed out, his lips touching my ear.
"What about his brother?"
Edward leaned away. "I said I couldn't help him with that one, that I didn't know, but that he should leave it alone. Trust me; he understood. He's also grateful I won't give Luke the info about DJ."
"Is he . . . okay?" I shrugged, keeping an eye on Lauren.
He rolled his eyes. "Do you really care?"
I didn't reply to that.
"He'll rest easier believing his son isn't dead—that his son is doing the right thing. Regardless of anything, in Derek's eyes, DJ got himself out of trouble—out of debt and out of New Jersey. He didn't appreciate being practically strip-searched in my office, but . . . I had to make sure he wasn't wired for sound. Understand?"
I nodded. "I do . . . you did what you had to, what you knew would work." I grasped his hand to place a kiss on his knuckles, while I willed what was left of my frustration to leave.
"Get outta the car," Edward shouted, pulling away from me. "Lemme do it!"
"I got it!" Lauren hollered back, her tire hitting the curb.
"You get one more try, Mallory." My husband held up a finger, smirking.
Lauren giggled, making eyes, like they were flirting or some shit.
That bothered me, but…
My mind just kept wandering back to my mother, and I needed an outlet. I needed another glass of wine, some laughs, to go back in and spend time with my loved ones.
When that dumbass finally parked her car, I felt a bit easier.
"You look good—"
She was still talking to him, and she said the wrong thing at the wrong time. It was just too much.
In hindsight, what she said truly wasn't bad, but that bitch had it coming.
All those years I had to watch her flirt with my husband, compliment him . . .
All those years she'd sworn she'd kick my ass . . .
Fried calamari flew everywhere after I punched her in the jaw. She grabbed ahold of my hair, and I tackled her to the ground in our foyer.
"Bitch!" She slapped at my face.
"Skank!" I punched her once more, and then reached for her neck to squeeze. "Fucking whore—look at him again! I fucking dare you!"
"Holy fuck!" I heard Edward shout, and then I was lifted off of her.
"Schifosa!" I gave her an Italian salute, moving my hand below my chin.
"What has gotten into you?" Edward squeezed my arm so hard.
"Oww." I panted, and, needless to say, that really calmed me.
Once again, I had an audience for my atrocious behavior. Aro was helping Lauren off the floor, and it looked like everyone else didn't know what to make of it.
Lauren was crying…
"I thought you could beat my ass?" I widened my arms, welcoming her.
"Cut it out," Edward spat.
I folded my arms across my chest and shut my mouth.
"She all right?" he asked Aro.
Aro was trying not to laugh. "Yeah, she'll live."
"You're crazy!" Lauren shouted at me.
"So, what?" I just couldn't give a fuck anymore; however, I was very happy no children were around to see that.
"That was wicked." Jasper gave me a high-five and so did his wife.
"Bitch had it coming," Alice commented.
I nodded, agreeing with her.
"We're coming to Sunday dinners more often," Jasper laughed.

"I thought you were dating Lisa?"
"We, uh, uh—" Aro was stuck.
"Exclusivity clause. Exclusivity," Carlisle sang under his breath.
"We never spoke about being exclusive." Aro gave Carlisle a high-five. "We've only gone on a few dates—"
Carlisle chuckled, doing the Sign of the Cross. "In nomine patri et fili et spiritu sancte." He stuck his fingers in his scotch, and then splashed Aro with it.
Don't you dare be mad at her either. When you date and sleep with children, they're bound to do childish things. I have pork chops in the oven—"
"Their bromance is endearing," Caius pursed his lips at them.
"And tomorrow they'll hate each other." I shook my head at them, while I waited for Aro and my brother to start making out.
"I don't like the way you said that." Carlisle frowned.
I smiled. "I'll be on my best behavior." I held up the bird. "Skip's honor."
"You let that little brat talk to you like that?"
"She's your kid. Put her in her place and smack her in the mouth." I nodded.
. "Embrace your power, and teach those kids some fu— manners!" I shouted.
Since I'd been giving out some stellar relationship advice lately, I thought I might be able to help him.

And I still consider Katie to be my best friend. She knows me possibly better than anyone else. She also knows that—whether we do it behind Raul's back or not—when that baby is born, we'll get a paternity test. If it's my kid, I want my fucking kid, and having Katie back . . . that'd be a welcome added bonus.
I'd truly have it all . . .
There'd be no way she could stay married to Raul. He's a decent guy, but he'll never love her as much as I do. He'll never be able to provide for her the way I could, and there's no fucking way he'll raise my child.
I see the fear in Katie's eyes, although she knows it'll work out. It always does, but it'll be this huge bomb to drop on both our families.
I'll never forgive myself for letting her go, so easily, and without a fight.
"He fucking cried?" I associate males crying over women with love. I figure the day a broad makes me cry is the day I fall in love . . . and Katie was so guilty of that back in the day, when things were always so serious and I thought I'd die without her.
Those were good times.
I nodded, keeping an eye on my brother and her hand. For all I know, he and Bianca have an imaginary love affair going, and he'll try to fight me for hooking up with her later.
Dad caught up with her fast and whispered something in her ear.
"She what?" Mom screamed, and I guess Dad caught them leaving too.
"Oh, Bebella . . . this is fantastic." Dad rubbed his hands together.
"You planned that?" Damion asked him.
"Did you?" I seconded.
"Mind your business . . . and smoking will kill you." He grabbed Mom and ushered her back inside.

Damion snorted. "He screwed Nunzio's daughter at the restaurant. He took Lori, and then . . . "
I chuckled, as did Aro and Carlisle.
"That's not funny," Bella said, looking around to us all. "God . . . my son is a whore. It's your fault!" She threw a pillow at my brother.
"That's not my fault," he protested.
"Watch your tone." I pointed at him, drink in hand.
We all shared a laugh, and then we all shouted, "Oh!" again, witnessing Lori smack Sonny's cheek. She hit him so hard, we almost heard it in the house.
"That bitch!" Bella shrieked.
"Ma, relax—for real," Damion told her. "He gets smacked by different women daily—he can take it."
"So—" Carlisle started. "You've learned how to be a doctor on paper, and now you're being taught in the field?"
"Yes," Dame said.
"Uh, son?" I chuckled. "You could have just said that . . . Who understood that last bit more than that other shit?"
When all of us raised our hands, Damion cracked a smile. "Sorry."
"Don't be." I smiled right back. "Thank you for sharing with us."
I've partied with Sonny before. We've gone drink for drink, shared a joint, and maybe we've hit the yak together too. He's more of a peer now, a friend—if I dare say—and we just get along really well. We're one and the same.
