I hate to see what is in store for Bella besides what she has already been through. This story is very well written and I look forward to the upcoming chapters. Keep up the good work.
In August of 1931, almost two years after the disastrous stock market crash on Wall Street, Bella's wealthy family suddenly find themselves broke and homeless in New York City. She is sent to live on her birth father's struggling farm in Oklahoma and soon the pampered, well-to-do city girl is forced to face life as a poor country bumpkin. The transition will not be easy for the overindulged sixteen year old. To make matters worse, choking dust storms, a dangerous drought and the hiring of a handsome but hardheaded homeless man will complicate Bella's life even further.

I love this story. If there is no running water there must be an outhouse and a chamber pot. My great grandparents had that. I remember the first time I ever stayed ther. They also had a tub in the middle of their kitchen for Saturday night baths and washing clothes in. They did have running water in the kitchen sink but it was only cold water. I loved being there but it really was kind of miserable now that I think about it. I love the pictures that you usually post as well. Merry late Christmas
Author's Response:
I am so happy you are enjoying this story. My grandmother called chamber pots "slop jars". Ewww!
I actually enjoy looking for those pictures I normally post in the end notes. At first, I thought about inserting them directly into the story text but I think they (the photos) can become distracting after a while. I have some great photos of Edward that I wanted to post in this story but I decided not to do it. Maybe I should put the photo links in the end notes??
Merry late Christmas to you as well and have a lovely and safe New Year!!!
Thank you for reviewing :o)
