Ahh yes the 5am start, unfortunately I've had to go in at that time more than I'd care to remember so I thought it'd be a good way to stress the importance of Bella's job to her and how seriously she takes it.
Not sure if hyena's laugh, but they do make a sound that is similar to a cackle, whether this is to express laughter or not I don't know, it's just a phrase.
