I’m up to the James psycho stuff, very exciting.

I’ve gotten to this point in your story and I have to go back and give thanks to you for previous chapters.

BUT although this is old news about the boycott I also participated, at the time, as I don’t think grown women, who are the bulk of the readers of FFNet, need to be dictated to, by a group of puritanical teenagers.

Rules are not rules in the case of a medium such as this. This medium should evolve to support views of the majority that support it. FFNet let this go till they become so powerful that publishing companies based their $ interest on how many review an author had on this site. “Master of the Universe”, point in case. Oh sure she eventually got kicked off but by that time she was popular enough to direct her fans to her own site.

There are other mediums to publish but FFNet remains the” it and a bit” but does not deserve the power and has let down those that made it famous.

Poor Mrs Clearwater is worried about her gay son and the implications for the rest of his life.  I wonder what she will think if Leah gets a new crush and want to engage in a no holes bared relationship with this one too now that (we are assuming) Edward is unavailable.

It will interesting if she thinks the inevitable illegitimate baby produced will just blow over in a few weeks.

Edward told Bella he was clean but he obviously was having sex with Rose without a condom or else he wouldn’t have thought he could possibly be the father.

He wouldn’t have had any reason to just have a test randomly before having sex with Bella so he wasn’t necessarily clean at all because Rose was having sex with someone else at the same time she was with him and obviously without a condom also. xoxo

They’re a tacky lot, without exception, but maybe “that’s Hollywood”.

Sad, selfish man

Well he’s certainly a “multiply personality” type in this story.

One week he’s cold and impersonal treating her like an employee on their one their third warning letter then he’s hyper howling and crying, begging and breaking down.

But I supposed he was, and still could be, an actor.

I honestly don’t see why her and the girls were the reason he continued until several week of finishing his degree.   Then he leaves his little baby and 4 year old behind, because he can’t cope, with only one parent that is supposed to cope on her own.  She used to it I suppose and how can she miss him, it seems they were never together as he seemed to be studying all the time anyway. 

You would think after five years of being cut off from everyone, they would have used each other for a listening post at least, even forced cell mates or college room mates confide and converse with each other.  Who else did they converse with?

Even if they do reunite, it’s hard to say back together again because is many ways they were not really together.   It’s so sad because they are so mature now and that wonder and passion will never be theirs, they have let it slip by without really noticing.

So who was the influence telling him that Bella didn’t care about him because she had practically sacrificed her marriage and her children’s time with their father for his studies? 

She said at McDonalds that he had financially supported her but he never had a job whilst they were married, she did and prior to that, it was his parent that supported them.

She had the job, he was wasting his time, how did he propose they would live, she had two children to think about and he also said he was near to going back to her and taking the few weeks needed to complete his law studies and not make a mockery of the aspect that put a complete strain on their marriage.

It’s like he’s unstable.

Sorry I forgot to do the coffee cups last time because you deserve them, this is a great story.

I guess when they were together they got used to acting in a kind of role-playing way and didn’t want to act out of “the character” they thought the other was expecting for fear of rocking the boat so to speak.  They were both so unsure of the other’s feelings, for example, when Edward came across to Bella’s table at the library, to interact with her, but she just made him think is was only about their daughter.

Now they accept that they don’t know each other now because of the 5 year separation so they are willing to gradually, with the help of their children, now with opinions of their own, to show the real them to each other.

Emmett was supposed to know what went on before the divorce, I thought Edward didn’t even really know and Emmett had never met Bella, to take her measure.

You wonder with Rose and Emmett being super stickybeaks, imposing and all knowing that have never latched on to the fact that Edward was supposed to be broken-hearted because of the divorce and things between Bella and Edward had never been resolved or discussed. 

Edward obviously only acts cool calm and collect and never really discuss anything personal with anybody.  He helped Rose with her delivery saying the right things and spend weeks 24/7 looking into her contract but he could never bring himself to tell Bella that he loved her. With this unemotional demeanour she would have been frightened to make the first move.

Edward must have been keeping things from everyone, even himself.

I mean what he asked Bella to do was complete unreasonable.  She was not even comfortable with him and she was supposed to move away from her whole support system and job.  Bella shouldn’t have asked him to choose between music and his family but between sudden impulses and his family, that’s the way he presented it to her.

Rose interestingly describe Edward a very cocky  but surprisingly Bella gushes to herself in one part, describing Edward as wonderful kind sweet etc, etc and I wonder when she saw that side of him and why she didn’t react to it at the time. 

I guess he didn’t make the grand gesture and she kept misinterpreting then thwarting his small efforts.

 Great story though

Great story, poor Isabella how worn down she will be in no time.  She is doing the work of a full grown woman and man combined and is only 16.  How must her hands appear and surely her appearance would already be a little weather-beaten.

Yes I have purchased gooseberries from the fruit & veg shop but as a raw berry I wasn’t impressed.

Still seems like an awful lot of work.  I’m surprised she could even be presentable after doing all that work.  Her hair would stink of animals and be full of soot and dust and her skin and fingernails would be ingrained.  Having a bath was a laborious process with heating and pouring the buckets in then emptying the bath once finished, so I don’t think she had time for that.

It’s interesting that she doesn’t trust Lady Cullen she thought all those years of friendship was just to soften the blow of eviction.

I don’t see how she and Edward will have anything in common.

I am interested in what Jasper meant by Edward when he said that as well as attending business in town he was “making merry”.  Does that mean he was drinking and womanizing?

Thank you for letting us know “exactly” what making merry meant. 

So Edward enjoyed a night out at the boys club but as no women were usually allowed inside those hallowed halls he wasn’t womanizing.  I’m glad as I would hate to think of him as a 29 year letch after a 16 year old.

He think Bella is 19 and still too young although he is smitten already.

I am surprised he is not more of a snob.

He will get a shock when he finds out she is 16 but he will also be pleased with Bella’s practical sense of what needs to be done as he has no time for the simpering ladies making eyes at him behind their fans but without a genuine bone in their bodies.

It is sad Renee has died, she was a burden with no chance of recovery however she was still theoretically an adult authority.

Isabella is stubborn but not wholly capable of achieving much on her own.  It is almost like Lord and Lady Cullen and now Edward as humouring her. She is a small girl and working like she has been will see her health suffering eventually plus she will be too exhausted for much forward thinking or planning and as stated she hasn’t much education.

Renee was a school teacher but that would have been before she married as even up to 100 years ago school teachers had to be single, were poorly paid and their social life or lack of it was scrutinized.  I read a list of expectations for school teachers and some of the things included bringing coal for the fire and moping the floor after the class and to be in their lodgings by a very early hour, alone.

Telling a young boy he was the man of the house when there was no other male, even though he was incapable of taking charge, would just undermine the authority of any woman taking charge but I know it was the done thing but just goes to show how the male authority was never questioned and a boy to be head of the house was preferable to a woman.

Somehow though I think Charles thinking he is the head of the house but being dependant on his sister and Emmett is somewhat similar to Bella thinking she is running the farm but being dependant on Lord and Lady Cullen.

Nevertheless as hard as she is working as long as she is allowed to maintain her autonomy she is living a more satisfying life than a woman that is producing babies, never consulted, domineered and expected to follow orders like most married women, particularly the wives of the more wealthy.

I think that Edward will admire her tenacity and self reliance.

They were speaking German so it was either Victoria herself as her first name was Alexandria I think or someone from her mother or Albert’s family. Albert was her first cousin anyway.

Well Edward’s a little mixed-up sausage first he’s going to dump her if he can then he says they won't make it if she can’t attend the balls etc. 

His parents put her under his nose, well his mother at least and then tell him to cool it.  I suppose that’s fair the gentry in particular didn’t rush into things as a general rule.

Honestly coming from her background she would have to have a finishing-school type tutor or governess come and give her a crash course so she wouldn’t be embarrassed.  To go from transporting slaughtered meat back home to balls and grand dinners is a bit of a stretch but nothing she couldn’t handle given the right incentive.

Well they are all about protocol and having a chaperone to go to the nursery but he goes into the bedroom which seems rather risqué to me.

I supposed it is always about appearance and everyone tried to bend the rules if it suited them and they could get away with it, even though I am not implying that Master Edward has anything improper in mind.

 Poor Isabella is such a young girl, completely untutored in all things regarding men and their behaviour and also never having had the opportunity to observe others. 

Alice will have to tell her how Jasper behaves regarding the courting and how he made his preference for her known before hand.  I know the father was asked first but most men, unless they were unfeeling bullies, would like to know the woman was interested.
